I like the premise, about aliens using our planet as a testing lab and the results.
Didn’t care so much for a jaded alt-history left leaning retell.
This just reminded me of Watchmen, in that the super powered are simply flawed humans. I don’t like that.

I’ve avoided George R. R. Martin’s other work because I know I’ll always compare it to ASOIAF which I absolutely love (and need to reread because I can barely remember anything hahaha).

I can’t remember if he wrote all of the stories in the book or not. I know starting with book 2 that he was just the Editor and lots of other people wrote the stories.
