Title: The Lord God Made Them All
Series: All Creatures Great and Small #7
Author: James Herriot
Rating: Unrated
Genre: Non-fiction
Pages: 388
Format: Digital Edition
Synopsis: |
Even more stories from the Vet. And apparently he goes to Russia, or something.
My Thoughts: |
I abandoned this at the 10% mark. I just couldn’t take any more cutesy stories about animals or the people. The people just pissed me off. So I endured for almost 40 pages. Then when he starts off about him going to Russia, and preparing his reader for that adventure, I just gave up.
Almost 400 pages was too much and I had really reached my limit of animal stories about 2 books ago. Nothing wrong with this book, hence the Unrated rating. I am using this as a lesson to teach myself when I need to abandon a series sooner.
ah I think we could all do with that lesson from time to time- I’ve definitely forced myself to finish books/series when I’m not interested anymore- sometimes we just need to dnf 😉

Maybe the story will have checked out some interesting, exotic Russian animals?… Who am I kidding. Definitely doesn’t sound like something that could have held your attention any longer.

Actually, that is probably what it’s about. Instead of english cows and pigs, you get russian *whatever animals they have in russia*…

I admire your decision; at book 7 I think I would still feel obligated to push forward even when the wise and logical thing to do would be to cut my losses, lol.

I just realized, I’ve got 150 other books on my kindle. Why read something that I don’t like?

Sometimes it is hard to abandon ship so late into the series because the investment has been made. Good for you! I am skipping this all together. 10% in and not looking back speaks well There are too many others on the shelf.

I think I really enjoyed the first 2 books, then it started dragging a bit more with each successive book.
If you like animals, this series is definitely for you. If not, then I’d call it a toss up…
