The lone gunman Three is gone.
Wren is the new governor of the devastated settlement of Morningside, but there is turmoil in the city. When his life is put in danger, Wren is forced to flee Morningside until he and his retinue can determine who can be trusted.
They arrive at a border outpost to find it has been infested with Weir in greater numbers than anyone has ever seen. These lost, dangerous creatures are harboring a terrible secret—one that will have consequences not just for Wren and his comrades, but for the future of what remains of the world.
New threats need new heroes . . .
My Thoughts: |
I was not enjoying my time reading this and so I stopped. I don’t care enough about Posey anymore to figure out if this was him or me. Doesn’t matter. Won’t be reading any more by him.
You’re really buzzing through these now Booky!

Yeah, but that’s not necessarily a good thing. I really liked Posey’s stuff the first time around and so it’s pretty bittersweet realizing I’ve parted ways with him.

Morningside is a posh area of Edinburgh where I park my car sometimes. fact!

Can’t be that posh if you have to park your own car. Did you fire your chauffer James?

This is why I don’t want to know authors as people but as only names. Makes writing something like this much easier.

Morningside
The old man died
And no one cried
They simply turned away.
Sad song, Neil Diamond, is it in the book?

It is not. But the idea of turning away from the dead is definitely there. Now you’ve got me wondering if Posey listened to the song and let it be an inspiration…

I can’t see why that wouldn’t be the case, Neil Diamond is pretty ubiquitous. 😁

Mhm, now I’ll be sure to stay clear of this author 😉 One potential series of books off TBR! Thanks 🙂

You’re welcome.
I wish I could be nicer about Posey but I simply can’t…

Sometimes you just gotta call it quits. I USED to be one of those people who finished a book no matter how bad it was but then I realized, there isn’t enough time to read all the good books, why force myself to suffer with the bad ones? I’ve enjoyed reading a lot more since.

I still have a hard time with dnf’ing but am doing more of it as I get older. Less time and all that jazz 😀

When you DNF this late in a book do you ever just look up the ending on the internet to at least know what happens and move on? 😮

This book specifically was a re-read so I already knew.
But others, usually not. Whatever caused me to dnf usually means I really don’t want to know. which is why most of my dnf’s don’t even have a synopsis. I don’t care by that point 🙂

Sorry to hear. I don’t think I ever got to this one.

I am definitely not a Posey fan any more, so you won’t hear me recommending you try it
