Personal:
The last week of October and the first 2 weeks of November were sunny, warm and work was great. Weeks like these are why I put up with the winters of New England. I was soaking in the sunshine and humming to myself and life was good. Of course, by the end of the month I was wearing my thermal underwear and mountaineering socks, so winter came in fast.
The Author Index is going along quite swimmingly. I’m working my way backwards from Z to A and I’m working on the S’s already. It is already paying dividends as I found another book I hadn’t reviewed on the blog and so added it. I did have to change how the page behaved, as I realized I had over 900 authors and one single page with 900 links was going to be so unwieldy as to be useless. So each letter now opens up to its own page and associated authors. Not what I wanted but I suspect long term it will work out better.
I wrote what felt like was a lot of non-review posts and I HAD SO MUCH FUN AGAIN. Not posting on Tuesdays did mean I had to double up posts on other random days, but it worked for me. I do have to ask, how do you all feel about? Do you care if a blogger has multiple posts in a day or would you rather they were spread out completely? If you have never thought about this subject, I think you should. Being a wiser, discerning blog reader is important and besides, I want to raise the tone here on my blog. So raise that left pinky when leaving a comment please.
Life has been changing, in small ways but more than I was expecting. Upgrading my avatar, buying a new computer, going Dot Blog, the disastrous new theme that didn’t work out, Mrs B becoming a contributor to the blog, all little things in and of themselves, but for someone like me, that’s a veritable avalanche of changes. Last month I joked about reading my old journals being my midlife crisis, but in all seriousness, this much changing in such a short time is not like me at all. But I am enjoying it instead of worrying about it, hahahhaaa. In the words of the Immortal Bill & Ted, Party on Dudes!
Cover Love:

Hidden Voices, book 9 in the series, does not fail to once again deliver a stunning cover. I LOVE these!
Plans for Next Month:
Well, pretty much the same as this month I think. 12 books a month seems to work out well for me in terms of reviewing without burning out and adding 4 comics on top of that was not too much. I’m still not going to be reading any manga though. That’s going to have to wait until January.
I am going to be watching and reviewing Event Horizon for my movie. Starting next year I’m going to have to figure out something as watching and reviewing random movies really doesn’t work for me. The Muppet journey was perfect and if I could find something akin to that, it would be great. I doubt I’ll be able to though. I might even give the whole one movie a month thing the toss.
Got a bunch of non-review nonsense posts queued up. Just need to actually write them. That’s the biggest problem with blogging I have found. I have some great ideas but then I actually have to work and write it out. Totally bogus.
Survive the holidays. Thanksgiving wasn’t nearly as bad as I was afraid it might be, but we’ll see what happens with Christmas and New Years. Speaking of Christmas, tomorrow I’ll be reviewing A Christmas Carol as read by Patrick Stewart. Please look forward to it!

If you could see your way to contributing towards the Orphan Bookstooge Fund, that would be much appreciated.

I’m not a big fan of multiple posts in one day. But that’s just because I only do my regular blog browsing first thing in the morning and then only sometimes go back to check things out. Seems like once a day should be enough anyway. My 2 cents, which you asked for. Which literally means nothing since we don’t have pennies anymore so 2 cents gets rounded down to zero on your bill.

That is exactly what I wanted to know.
You don’t do pennies any more? Really?
LikeLike
No, Canadian pennies went out years ago. I still have a jar of them but they’re gone from the economy.
Just noticed that Dix had a second post yesterday that I totally missed because of the fact I mentioned that I usually do all my blog browsing in the morning. But seeing as it was some kind of British bedroom farce I figure it’s just as well.

What about nickels, dimes and quarters? Or is the loonie the new penny?

Still have them. We don’t have paper dollar or two-dollar bills though because we have the coins.
We’re moving more and more toward a cashless society though. I still use cash for quite a few transactions, but I’m an outlier. People just tap now.

We keep trying to get a dollar coin into circulation, but it just never takes. I suspect we’ll hold onto our pennies until we go cashless 😦

The Author Index Project still sounds like a massive one, but it seems you have this particular “tiger” held firmly by the tail so… congratulations! 🙂

Thankfully, the majority of the work was done when I began creating the individual posts. It’s more of just making sure every review has an author tag now 🙂

I like one post a day from people, though I don’t really mind if a second post is worth commenting on. Dix often does a second and that’s OK. I know a couple of bloggers who often do 3 a day (get a life!) and that annoys me a bit so I either unfollow or just comment on one post only.

Yeah, the people who do 3+ need to learn to schedule on their open days.
Thanks for letting me know too. Bloggers are so varied that I can’t extrapolate from my own thoughts on an issue.

I’m not always good with change. I’ve been changing things up a little on the blog (mainly some weekly posts) and yeah change and I go about as well as… I don’t know, whatever doesn’t go well together ha ha.
Galactic Odyssey caught my eye as I’m rather fond of Dinosaur Beach. And Benalish Hero! Wow. been a while…

Some people seem to thrive on change, but I am not one of them. Nor, apparently, are you 🙂

I like what you mentioned about actually having to write up all these wonderful subjects that come to our minds. It takes time…posts don’t magically appear. Life gets in the way, and that’s why I walked away from blogging a couple of times before. Just couldn’t carve out enough time to write and follow.

I hear you.
Thankfully, right now. I have the time and an almost complete lack of other hobbies.
If I ever get interested in something else, I can see my blogging habits changing.

6 posts week would be fine too, no sweat, no pressure.
Event Horizon! I saw that in theater when it came out, jump right of my seat at certain moments. Curious if it will hold up after all these years.

Hahahahaa 😉
It all depends on how word’y I feel that particular week!
I watched it much later in life and loved it and have been on a kick to watch it again. I really liked it so am hoping this time I will again…

I was glad to see you back up and writing again Stooge. Just sad i was not around a lot to read all of it. Will catch up soon again. Hope December will be good to you.

I wouldn’t bother trying to catch up on any of the reviews. Some of the non-review pieces I thought were amusing, but overall, it DID feel good to be writing general “stuff” again.
Thanks. I hope it treats you well too. Play some Diablo for me, will ya? 😉

You can private solo but you can also go online co op if you want. In co op you tend to level up faster.

Considering how I tend to binge through bloggers’ posts whenever I can blog hop, I don’t really mind double-posters but I personally don’t do it and prefer spacing it, giving each post it’s time to shine in this huge, huge digital world. 😛 Hope December will be a good month for you!

Thanks for your input Lashaan. I really do appreciate everyone who chimed in.
I hope so too. I have a feeling it is going to be wicked busy though!

Envious of these numbers. Work has been so busy (forgot how busy the run up to Xmas is in the live events industry) that I’ve had little energy to read … or to write reviews for those things I’ve finished😭

Just about, although it’s certainly a struggle. Recently started to enjoy a bit of reading on my break. Nice bit of escapeism

Event Horizon! I haven’t thought about that movie in years and of course now I’m looking up where I can stream it.
Also, I must have missed that Predator book review, but “woke stories about pregnant predators and such” almost made me spit out my soda. What the actual heck?!

It is such a fun movie (fun in the sense of being really enjoyable). I just hope I can do it some justice 🙂
It was a horrible experience. The weird thing is, the editor is one who has collaborated with Larry Correia and his MHI universe, so I was expecting a better quality of stories to be selected.

My personal philosophy is usually about sticking to av winning formula and not fix something that is not broken with regards to unnecessary change….. But also comfort is an enemy of progress, sometimes you need to be disruptive a little too find “a new normal” which will have you even wondering you why you did not do sooner 😅 and if it doesn’t work out well it’s a letting learning point where you can now confidelity say, this works and that doesn’t.
As to posts I usually batch check out my reader so it doesn’t really matter how frequently or infrequently in a day someone posts.. within reason (which I think should not be more than two posts in a day especially if you are not going to be posting anything else through out the week)
