concluding volume[volume 7] of the Crown of Stars series. I didn’t think it ended really satisfactorily. Hughe never gets his. Things just kind of petre out, with no long lasting happy ending. Kind of like real life. Never get a real chance to see Sanglant and Liath’s love in peacetime. It ends with Blessing[their child] as an older woman.

The Aoi return, and the human world is spent in just trying to survive the conflagration that accompanied the Aoi’s return. I am looking forward to the final book coming out next Februrary or so. I’ll read it, then in a year or two, reread the whole series at once. To long between books and I forget who is who. There are ALOT of characters, reminds me of Jordan, but not so straggly. More focused.

After reading the final book, I sold my hardcovers and never re-read the series.

the story continues. A little sadder than the others, with people finding out stuff they wished they hadn’t. Also, homosexuality among priests and the like is there. More of a pleasure of the flesh than ‘oh, that’s the way I am’ type thing.

I really enjoyed this book. Well written, characters are fleshed out, the threads of people’s lives are starting to weave together a little more and the magic is starting to be explored in more detail.
