Book Give-Away: W Juliet Manga

The Rules:

United States only unless you’re willing to pay shipping for out of country. Should that be the case Paypal will be involved and paypal fees’s will be added. So if you’re not living in the US, think real hard about entering. I’ll be paying for shipping in the US, as the bookrate is still pretty cheap these days.

I’m going to try to vary what I’m offering, but most will be of the SF/F variety, from paperbacks to hardcovers. Some manga might be involved in the future. I’ll be putting up pictures each post so you know what you’ll actually be getting.

If you win a giveaway, you can’t try again for the next 2. Kind of arbitrary, but I really don’t want one person to sweep in and take everything 😀 But when that 3rd one rolls around, enter away! If I get a lot of spammers and non-followers entering, well, they’ll be “dealt with”.

To enter, just shoot me an email at Bookstooge at Gmail with “Book Giveaway – (Insert Book/Series Name)” in the subject line. I’ll be using a random dice selector to determine the winner. I will announce the winner in the next Give-Away post and email them to work out the details.

These rules are subject to change without notice. And don’t blame me if the police arrest you for winning that “How to Murder Your Boss and Get Away with It” book. You didn’t have to enter.

This Month’s Books:

I am giving away the complete set of W Juliet, a 14volume manga series. It follows the final 2 years of highschool for 2 actors, one a tomboy and one a boy who has to dress up like a girl for his father to allow him to become an actor (yeah, it’s manga, just roll with it). I enjoyed my time reading it back in 2007, but now I can’t handle the highschool manga drama. On the plus side, the boyfriend and girlfriend had a very strong and stable relationship that I approved of.

This Give-Away will be open until July 30th. I will announce the winner on July 31st on the Roundup & Rambling post. . Enjoy and good luck!

Poll: Opinions Wanted

I stopped doing the book giveaways when I didn’t get any bites for 2 months in a row. I am wondering if I should try again in ’21 or not. I do realize that over half my audience isn’t able to enter, being outside the United States.

Right now, I am leaning towards a “No”, as it is incredibly discouraging when you can’t even give books away. Let me know what you think, not just whether you’d try or not, but what you think of book giveaways in general.

I’ll probably bring this up again in January, so if you feel pressured to answer, don’t be. You’ll get a second chance to tell me how you really feel 😉

This Month’s Books:

Congrats to Ichabod for winning last month’s Give-Away.

First we have the Loremasters of Elundium trilogy by Mike Jefferies. Epic coming of Age Fantasy from the late 80’s and early 90’s.  I adored these in highschool.  Consists of The Road to Underfall, Palace of Kings and Shadowlight.

Second is the Great Game trilogy by Dave Duncan. Fantasy about  a man from our world being reincarnated into a warrior’s body in another world and the problems he has to solve. It’s actually a pretty serious series. It consists of Past Imperative, Present Tense and Future Imperfect.

Thirdly, we have the original Lost Fleet series by Jack Campbell. Military Space Opera at its best. Campbell is a Navy officer and his writing shows that military mindset. This consists of Dauntless, Fearless, Courageous, Valiant, Relentless and Victorious.

Finally, there are several books by Alan Dean Foster. Icerigger is the first book in the Icerigger trilogy.  With Friends Like These…Who Needs Enemies? are both collections of his short stories. Nor Crystal Tears and Sentenced to Prism are both standalone novels in his HumanX Commonwealth universe. All SF in case the spaceship and big alien bug didn’t give it away 😉

This Give-Away will be open until March 7th and I will announce the winner and the next Give-Away March 8th. Enjoy!

Aerie
